Seen in our picture is one of 1,100 Mercedes-Benz ECO-Start Sprinter vans that have been delivered to Parcelforce Worldwide. The ECO-Start system cuts the engine automatically whenever the vehicle is stationary for two seconds, and starts it again as the driver depresses the clutch.

The system is said to have been a major part of the Sprinter's appeal to Parcelforce Worldwide, though it was not the only criterion. In trials, the Sprinter is also said to have scored particularly highly for its driver's seat, driving position, cab comfort, ride comfort, cornering, handling and driving performance.

The vans replace a large proportion of Parcelforce's national large-van fleet.
