Smarter compliance system from Kewill

Central management of export licences is one of several new features introduced in version 3.0 of the Export Compliance System, or ECS, from Kewill. It maintains running balances of quantities and values against orders and shipments, alerting the user's compliance team when licences are approaching expiry and depletion.

The system has also gained what is termed corporate product compliance functionality. Users of ECS can now simultaneously screen company-specific watch lists together with governmental sanction lists. Automatic alerts can be generated to prevent specific products from being shipped to destination countries where government pre-approval of import has not been obtained.

Export and import licence determination has also been enhanced to tackle the issue of increased protectionism. The Kewill content team translates regulations into rules within the system, so that if for example an export licence is required, the user is alerted to this without having to approach the relevant agency.

ECS, one of the leading export compliance solutions in the market, is supplied on a Software as a Service (SaaS) basis. Kewill hosts and maintains lists from a number of agencies including the FBI, Interpol, HM Treasury and many other sources, and automatically checks orders for compliance with them.
