Fine wine merchant speeds next-day deliveries by integrating
Adrian Lloyd depot manager, Tanners, and Graham Jones, Station Couriers driver

Tanners, a Shropshire-based fine wine merchant, says it has streamlined the despatch of wine orders to both online and conventional trade customers by linking two key software resources – its own and the one used by APC Overnight, its main parcels carrier.

Tanners uses a fulfilment system from Maginus, while APC uses the NetDespatch online booking and tracking solution. Integrating these two resources is said to have allowed automatic shipping label generation, complete with customer and order details, which in turn helps to ensure efficient and reliable next-day delivery.

The company works closely with the local APC Station Couriers depot. 'Their online booking and tracking is fantastic,' says Steve Lloyd, head of distribution at Tanners' purpose-built bonded warehouse in Welshpool, Powys.

He adds that APC is very flexible with collection times, 'and the next-day delivery is extremely efficient.'

Tanners, a family-run company, employs about 50 people at its Shrewsbury headquarters, plus 40 in Welshpool and a further ten elsewhere.
