'Configure your own voice' with latest Vocollect option
Warehouse staff using the latest Vocollect Voice system can take advantage of a new enhancement – the ability to select system voices based on their own preferences. The company says the new voices have a more human sound than previously, which is said to improve worker job satisfaction. Many of the system voices are available as male or female speakers. Over half of the new voices provide natural-sounding options to workers who speak non-English languages. The choice of language options is vast (twenty in all), ranging from Eastern and Western European to Russian and Simplified Chinese. There are also variations for different English accents and dialects, including US, UK and Australian English. Altogether, Vocollect now offers 43 system voices in 24 unique languages. The company says its voice-directed picking systems are used in warehouses and distribution centres in over 40 countries, 30 of which are in EMEA region.
