Traidcraft's new web site built by Maginus

Traidcraft, the fair trade company, has chosen Maginus, the multi-channel supply-chain management software specialist, to build a new web site. It is fully integrated into the organisation's existing Maginus ERP system, which means the company can manage all product catalogue, customers and promotions centrally.

Maginus announced last year that it was building up its ability to develop front-end web sites for its customers as well as providing full back-end functionality.

Already 40 per cent of Traidcraft's business is done online, and the new site is expected to help build up that proportion. The site will handle both consumer and account customers, and its features include the ability for customers to check the status of outstanding orders online.

The new site has a content management system, allowing Traidcraft to make changes quickly to its web pages. According to Lesley Heeley, head of IT: 'We can now make changes to the content and look and feel of the site ourselves. For example, we can add a message or change an image.'

Standard UK delivery offered by Traidcraft on web orders is priced at £4.95. For delivery within three days the company offers an express service for an additional £5.50.
