Manhattan extends Microsoft Dynamics-based supply-chain package

A wide range of enhancements have been introduced in the latest version of Manhattan Associates' Microsoft-centric supply-chain suite, Manhattan ILS: Integrated Logistics Solutions. This is built using Microsoft .NET technology, and is based on the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform.

Functionality has been extended in a variety of areas including warehousing, transport, labour management, billing management, slotting optimisation, trading partner management, RFID support and business intelligence.

New features include a graphical outbound dock management screen, which uses Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) technology and supports real-time management of shipping dock operations. There is also improved visibility into dock locations and other areas.

Manhattan has also expanded the service-oriented architecture (SOA) platform by exposing supply chain processes as web services and introducing Microsoft's Workflow Foundation (WF) technology

Other advances include enhancements to the system's Performance Management Dashboard including a graphical representation of trend analysis, and a new option called Analytics, which analyses labour and profits to extend supply chain visibility.
