The value of knowing what you've bought
Peacocks, one of the UK's largest value fashion retailers, has chosen e-commerce specialist Red Technology to support an online initiative. It says the new technology has been designed to simplify the online buying process and help customers shop in the same way that they would in the real world. The company's new web site incorporates various innovative functions such as a 'shop the look' outfit for choosing and customising a complete outfit, and an 'email a friend' function to enable customers send images and fashion ideas to friends. The new site's shopping basket also has the useful feature of displaying product images, helping to give customers confidence that they have picked the correct product in the correct size. The site uses Red's tradeIT e-commerce platform, which incorporates various e-marketing and content management tools. The product catalogue, online marketing, site layout and email campaigns can be managed in house without the need for technology experts.
