Catalyst joins CDC, adds cross-carrier tracking and SAP implementation
Catalyst, the Philadelphia-based supply chain software specialist with a long-standing presence in the UK, has been acquired by CDC Software, a wholly owned subsidiary of New Jersey-based CDC Corporation. Catalyst's UK staff have now relocated to CDC's UK offices. Catalyst suite provides a range of open standards-based solutions for warehouses, supply chains and distribution networks, and CDC says these are 'highly complementary' to its own CDC Supply Chain product line and CDC Global Services operations. Two new products have already been announced since the takeover. XPS is an integrated cross-carrier packing and shipping system, which is said to simplify all aspects of packing and shipping, and integrates seamlessly with SAP, as well as with leading third-party parcel carriers' systems. Catalyst has also added a design and implementation service for businesses adopting SAP's latest transportation management system, SAP TM 6.0.
