Walkers integrates with order fulfilment suite
An integrated order fulfilment system from Industri-Matematik International has gone live at Walkers Snack Foods, the leading UK snack food producer. It includes the latest releases of IMI Order, IMI Warehouse and IMI Collaboration. The upgrade is part of a larger Walkers programme called the Darwin Project. This is a three-year, phased initiative to re-engineer supply chain operations, with the aim of rationalising in-house systems, reducing maintenance costs and improving and streamlining processes. IMI's Order suite automates response to customer requirements, combining the function of various legacy systems. The Collaboration suite streamlines customer proof of delivery handling, and therefore also invoicing process, and offers Walkers the potential to increase order visibility using Advance Ship Notices. The warehouse suite includes radio-frequency picking, and is already said to have speeded inbound movements and improved case-picking through better location management.
