Afaria extended to new Panasonic range

The first mobile device management system for Panasonic’s new U1 Toughbook ultra-mobile computer (see item above) is said to be the Afaria management and security solution from Sybase iAnywhere.

Afaria is a core component of the company’s Information Anywhere suite, providing comprehensive management and security capabilities for mobile devices, regardless of the bandwidth available. Afaria is considered a leading solution for providing comprehensive, proactive protection to mobile workforces against security threats.

Coinciding with the launch, Sybase iAnywhere has also extended its existing support for the Panasonic mobile computing range by including its mobile and embedded database, SQL Anywhere. It says this will provide mobile workers with extensive data management and exchange technologies, equipping their applications for frontline environments without on-site IT support.
