Faster and brighter handheld terminals

Honeywell is the latest handheld terminal manufacturer to announce a new high-powered, all-purpose model, its 9900. It has Intel’s fast 624MHz XScale PXA270 processor, and it runs the Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system.

It comes with “alpha-shifted” or full alphanumeric keyboard and quarter VGA polycarbonate touch screen, and includes various barcoding capabilities, among which is the Adaptus imaging technology developed by Hand Held Products, the originator of what is now the Honeywell range. A variety of connectivity options is offered, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and quad-band GSM mobile capability.
