Superdrug explores benefits of e-Freight system
Superdrug is to conduct a feasibility study into the possibility of improving its inbound logistics efficiency by using the online freight service being developed by Scottish-based e-Freight Logistics. The retailer will explore the benefits of using the e-fr8 application to manage and control the freight logistics part of its replenishment process. According to Davie Welsh, Superdrug's general manager, distribution: "We have selected the e-fr8 application as it is projected to provide real bottom line cost savings, and will improve management control over our inbound logistics." E-Freight Logistics was formed by managing director Nigel Feeney in April 1999, and secured first-round funding just over a year ago. Its proposition goes beyond a freight exchange, offering integrated supply chain solutions.
