Westgate hosts, but pays by subscription
Westgate EFI, a leading distributor of equestrian products and fashion clothing, has chosen the 3EX.NET enterprise software system from Exact Abacus to run its business, and has opted for an unusual business arrangement with the supplier. It is funding the system on a pay-as-you-go basis – an arrangement familiar with supplier-hosted software – but it is hosting the software at its own site at Romney Marsh in south-east England. This is possible because Exact Abacus has launched a 'subscription' payment system. According to financial director Damien McConnell: 'The company says it prefers to put its capital into marketing, stock and tangible assets.' The company says it is hoping to see a return on investment from the system within twelve months, mainly through improvements to inventory planning and warehouse management.
