Spark Response flexes in Port of Tyne partnership
![]() Fulfilment specialist Spark Response has announced a partnership with the Port of Tyne, which will provide it with extra warehousing capacity to cover annual seasonal peaks. The agreement involves what is termed a 'flexible extension' of approximately 40,000 sq ft. This agreement, which was foreshadowed in the feature on Spark Response our last issue (F&E, issue 48), reflects Port of Tyne's growing presence in the global logistics market. The port's interim managing director, Mike Davison, says the organisation has been building up a reputation as a specialist in in-time and on-time delivery. It has 8.6 ha of undercover storage space, and operates from Tyne Dock, a major port complex at South Shields. Its portfolio includes modern facilities with very narrow aisle racking and 53,000 pallet spaces. The organisation is run by an independent board of directors appointed by the Secretary of State for Transport.
