A home and business technical delivery service that includes full installation and commissioning of high-tech equipment has been launched by DHL Exel Supply Chain's Technology and Healthcare division under the name Technical Courier. It takes advantage of the company's multi-user network, while offering a range of added-value service.

As an example of a product suitable for the system, the company cites a home entertainment system, and one of its early customers is Richer Sounds, whose deputy managing director Jez Avens says the system 'has taken the strain off internal resources.'

DHL says the services on offer can range from 'plug and play' installation to complex on-site repairs, equipment roll-outs and complete project management, including returns.

DHL's previous Technical Courier operation was a delivery-only service, and the company says the upgraded nationwide service is brand new.
