Pharmacy2U opts for Exact's .NET fulfilment system
Pharmacy2U, which claims to be the UK's largest dedicated internet and mail order pharmacy, has selected 3EX.NET software by Exact Abacus to run its direct sales business. The Microsoft .NET-based system will represent a core element of P2U's IT infrastructure, which uses Service Oriented Architecture to integrate with other specialist applications. The project and involves the implementation of 3EX.NET Demand Management and Stock Control modules, which are being integrated with P2U's next-generation e-commerce platform. P2U managing director Daniel Lee says the company adopted a Microsoft-based IT strategy because it was deemed to offer the lowest-cost and highest-reward option. He adds: 'On evaluating the market, we found that the 3EX.NET application is the most technically advanced, future-proofed and innovative product available.' 
P2U allows prescriptions, over the counter medicines and personal care products to be delivered direct to the customer's doorstep – often at prices lower than on the high street. It is registered as a mail order pharmacy with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and holds an NHS mail order pharmacy contract.
