Payment processing from Actinic
Actinic, the specialist in e-commerce storefront systems for small and medium businesses, has launched its own payment card processing system, appropriately named Actinic Payments. The development means traders using Actinic's software can obtain a one-stop-shop payment service to complement their online system. According to Actinic chief executive Chris Barling: 'The service is cost-competitive while offering easier order and payment processing.' The underlying service is being provided by Creditcall. It offers full Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Level 1 certification, across-the-board 3D-Secure compatibility, and integration with all major banks. Common payment functions are accessible directly from the order-processing application, Actinic says. These include pre-authorisations, refunds, voids and additional payments – all achieved without storing any payment card details in-house. The system also offers payment processing for mail order and telephone order activities, providing a complete multi-channel payment processing system. Appropriate merchant accounts are required; the system currently works with accounts from Barclaycard, HSBC, Lloyds Cardnet, Natwest/RBS Streamline, HBOS and Elavon / Alliance and Leicester. Various pricing options are offered, including for instance a contract price of £100 per annum and a setup fee of £20. This deal includes 800 transactions per annum, with a fee of 39p per additional transaction. You can skew the pricing to put more emphasis on the flat rate and cut the transaction fees.
