Home Delivery's woman of the year
 Susan Davies, general manger for Home Delivery Network's Llanelli depot, walked away with the customer service award in the first-ever Everywoman Women in Logistics and Transport Awards last month. Susan joined what was then Home Express in 1984 as a part-time telephone answering clerk, but quickly moved up the corporate ladder. 'I enjoyed being a clerk but I saw there was a lot more to the job than I first thought,' she says. 'I put myself forward for every job and every training opportunity that I thought I could do. I handled next-day B2B deliveries and driver assessment for new applicants before becoming assistant general manager in 2001, and then general manager the following year.
