Multi-channel storefront handling from Actinic

Actinic e-commerce storefront software can now handle orders taken via multiple channels, not just the internet. New payment processing options have also been added in the newly-released version 9, and Google Analytics have been integrated into the product.

The multi-channel capability has been introduced, according to chief executive Chris Barling, because Actinic research and user feedback show that the majority of online merchants also sell through other channels. A new order entry form has been provided for mail order and telephone orders, fully integrated with the e-commerce side of the product.

We can't tell you much yet about the new payments option, except that it includes support for Actinic Payments, a new system which is scheduled for a launch around the time this issue of F&E appears. We do know it will offer tight integration between Actinic's software and a payment gateway, providing most common functions in a form that is accessible directly from the desktop.

Google Analytics have been included to enable merchants to track visitor behaviour and marketing campaigns.

The new release sees the merging of two product strands - Actinic Business Multi-Site and Actinic Business Multi-User. These now come under the joint heading Actinic Business Plus.

Actinic Catalog and Actinic Business pricing remains unchanged at £399 and £799 respectively for single-site, single user licences. Actinic Business Plus costs £1,249, plus £300 per additional networked user.
