Impatex takes over NetFreight

Customs software supplier Impatex has acquired freight forwarding software provider NetFreight. According to Impatex managing director Peter Day: 'Customers are increasingly hesitant about using different systems from different suppliers. We recognise Impatex must be able to offer a forwarding solution that matches the quality and scope of its trusted Customs system.'

Impatex has supplied customs processing systems since 1980, and claims to have pioneered 'intelligent' direct trader customs input back in 1983. Its multi-modal Customs Manager software is said to be unique in interfacing with all the DTI Communities - CCS-UK, CNS, Dover, MCP and Pentant.

NetFreight is an Internet-based freight forwarding and courier software package, written in .NET and SQL, which can be used at any location with an internet connection. It provides online tariffs and bookings for customers, converts quotes to jobs, and produces shipping documents including barcode labels, air waybills and bills of lading.
