Waitrose extends voice picking
In the light of experience with voice-driven warehouse picking over the past two years, retailer Waitrose has announced that it is to extend the application to four more distribution centres during 2007. The company is using the VoiceLogistics system from Voxware. According the Mike Wooldridge, the manager of distribution projects for the retailer: 'The results are now quite impressive, in terms of both partner productivity and accuracy, so from a cost/benefit standpoint it is the right time for us to expand our use of voice technology.' Voxware provides open, standards-based software solutions in the voice-picking arena, working with a range of hardware providers as required.
