Hosted payment system 'opens carrier market to more internet deliveries'
What is described as a complete e-commerce solution for express parcel and courier companies has been launched by NetDespatch, the specialist in hosted online despatch management solutions. The system includes classic features such as quoting, booking, tracking and management information reporting, as well as web design. Where it really scores though, according to NetDespatch, is in the fact that it also includes the management of secure payment for collections and deliveries, which is handled through credit card authorisation companies such as Worldpay, Protx and Paypal. Managing director Becky Clark says this is the first such product to incorporate instant quote and credit card payment facilities as a ready-made service.
'It means even the smallest company can grasp the opportunities presented by the Internet,' she maintains. 'This opens up important new business opportunities for couriers as more and more goods are bought and sold online. With payment by credit card, a formal account does not need to be opened, helping to attract a broad range of new customers.'
