Spring 2007
EPOS integration for Actinic
True multi-channel capability has been introduced with the latest release of Actinic Business, the budget e-commerce package. It comes in the form of integration with the company's EPOS Network computerised till application, which has been developed following the company's acquisition last year of Checkout, a specialist in affordable EPOS (electronic point of sale) systems. The new version of Actinic Business also introduces enhancements to the shipping module, including support for volumetric shipping-rate calculation, shipping charges based on product and product category, and free shipping limits for specific products and classes. Actinic says the suite now offers the most advanced shipping functionality available at its price point. The EPOS Link allows product and stock information to be updated automatically between the company's e-commerce and EPOS applications. Actinic says this will enable users who have both online and offline shops to synchronise the two areas of their business easily, improving efficiency, accuracy and control. Other enhancements in version 8.5 include full support for Windows Vista, and further development of its Dreamweaver integration, allowing real-time, WYSIWYG editing of Actinic layouts in Dreamweaver. Upgrades are free to Actinic Business version 8.0 users, and for others prices start at £549 for software only and £749 for software and hardware bundles.
