Voice and data terminal
This is the latest in-cab terminal from Infowave, a Singapore-based electronics multinational. It has GPS tracking and GSM/GPRS mobile phone technology built in, and unlike many terminals using such connectivity, is designed for voice as well as data communication. The company reckons it can therefore save the price of a separate mobile phone. It features a bright TFT colour touch-screen, and runs either Windows CE 3.0 or Embedded Linux. Inside is a 206MHz RISC processor with 64MB of SDRAM. In other words, it has most of the features of a fast handheld computer.
