AquiTec adds Web-enabled warehousing
AquiTec International has added a Web-enabled warehouse management software system to its integrated supply-chain execution suite, SCM/e. It aims to offer users real-time visibility of warehouse operations, while its Web-enabled architecture is said to offer enhanced information availability and greater flexibility in management reporting. eWMS is built round the company's existing iSeries-based warehouse and labour management suite, SCM/400, but is said to offer enhanced flexibility, scaleability and user-friendliness through its Web-based architecture.
Existing capabilities include receiving scheduling, user-definable putaway rules, highly configurable industrial engineered standards for labour management and performance reporting, RF interleaving, pick-by-line and cross-docking. Additional functionality includes real-time tracking of inventory in the warehouse, support for third-party warehouses, standard interfaces for integration to host systems, and support for multiple units of measure. eWMS has been built using J2EE technology and can be used either in stand-alone mode or alongside the other products in AquiTec's SCM/e suite - eBilling and eProcurement.
