Web-enabled WMS from AquiTec
A Web-enabled version of the high-end warehouse management software from AquiTec is to be launched next year at the Softworld Supply Chain event in March. The new eWMS is designed to provide customers with real-time visibility of warehouse operations, as well as introducing enhanced information flow and greater flexibility in management reporting. eWMS has been built using J2EE (Java) technology, and can be used either as a stand-alone product or in conjunction with the other products in AquiTec's SCM/e suite of applications - notably eBilling and eProcurement. This means it can be accessed by any device with a browser, from thin-client PC to mobile handset. The company says the new range has been developed in response to customer and market demand for flexibility of platform choice. Previously its supply-chain products have been built round IBM's AS/400 (now I-series) platform, and the new versions are said to retain the same functionality.
