JDA and Manhattan in alliance
A worldwide strategic alliance has been announced between JDA Software, the retail market systems specialist, and Manhattan Associates, a leader in warehouse management and supply-chain execution systems. The first fruit of the collaboration is a set of standard interfaces between PkMS, Manhattan's supply chain execution solution, and PortfolioT, JDA's client/server merchandising system. Integration between PkMS and JDA's merchandise management system, ODBMS, will follow. JDA is emphasising that its own MMS warehouse management product remains available, but says some users will prefer the extended supply chain execution capabilities offered by Manhattan. The two American-based companies already have several major UK clients in common, including Debenhams, Mothercare and Virgin.
