Fleet management link for truck data
Vehicle performance data can be downloaded directly into RoadBASE fleet management systems following an agreement struck by Chevin Computer Systems and ICS Black Box, the on-board computer specialist. The basic system requires only an ICS Fleet Log on-board computer costing £340 including installation. Data is downloaded on a batch basis when the vehicle returns to base. Operators wanting live updates while the vehicle is out on the road can specify an additional device sending data via SMS messages over the GSM phone network, although this option costs a more substantial £1,100.
