Dispatcher-WMS runs under Citrix MetaFrame

The Dispatcher-SCE supply-chain execution system from LIS has been adapted to work on a distributed basis on systems using the MetaFrame for Windows application delivery system from Citrix.

The MetaFrame system allows relatively low-powered PCs to act as workstations in a centralised computer environment, requiring only moderate bandwidth for the transmission of data. LIS says a number of its customers have been considering installing it to provide centralised control over the Dispatcher-WMS system. An attraction is that the system allows an LIS network to be augmented and extended without prejudicing the security of the underlying data. LIS adds that although the Dispatcher-WMS system is held centrally, individual users can still personalise their view of it to suit their own working methods. l LIS says it is the first major warehouse management system vendor to offer a certified interface with SAP's mySAP.com collaborative e-business platform. It was previously the first company in its sector to win accreditation for its interface with SAP's R/3 ERP suite.
