La Poste takes over BTB Mailflight
Fulfilment and mailing specialist BTB Mailflight has been acquired by La Poste Group, France's national state-owned postal service. The value of the deal has not been disclosed. La Poste says the acquisition forms part of a long-term international expansion plan, and enhances its existing services in the UK by allowing it to provide postal collection and sorting before 'final mile' delivery by the Royal Mail. Existing users of the service include Harrods and Laura Ashley. La Poste already provides a range of direct marketing services in the UK via its Slough-based subsidiary La Poste UK, including data management, document preparation, mail collection and franking, worldwide mail distribution and business reply. Through its GeoPost subsidiary, La Poste also has a strong foothold in the UK parcels market, controlling DPD (formerly Parceline) and Interlink Express.
Bedford-based BTB Mailflight was established in 1969, and has 200 staff in four sites. Its turnover is put at more than £24 million.
