Isotrak and Enterprise Software partner in 'orders to cash' supply-chain solution
A system described as the first fully integrated, real-time 'orders to cash' transport management solution for the logistics and transport industry has been launched by telematics specialist Isotrak in association with traffic and transport management specialist Enterprise Software. It is called Transcend. It combines the real-time tracking and communication capabilities of Isotrak's Active Transport Management System with the Enterprise Transport Management package. The result, say the two companies, is a system that unifies order entry, planning, resource management, vehicle tracking, debriefing, proof of delivery and invoicing. In particular, the joint package addresses the problems that arise when managers are dealing with customer orders, and have to engage in 'where are you now?' conversations with drivers, as well as producing paperwork such as to despatch job manifests and receiving POD documentation to facilitate billing. Other benefits include analysis of turnround times by location, comparisons of planned and actual times, route analysis and vehicle productivity (including empty running). Key metrics such as customer profitability can be updated in real time.
Enterprise Transport Management is described as a highly-evolved complete solution which integrates with warehouse, fleet and financial management systems. However, Isotrak says the Transcend package draws more benefit from it, allowing it for the first time be able take full advantage of its 'central repository of data' operational model.
